Last night Derrick commemorated a year of healing with Katie and her parents. Much of the abuse Katie suffered was at the church building. Consequently, she had many panic attacks at the church building. A year ago, Derrick got together with Katie, Steve and Trish and talked about what happened. There was prayer. There was understanding of resurrection.
Last night they gathered again to appreciate the progress. To see the healing and the restoration.
I was not invited to join in last night. I was not there a year ago. Today I received an email from Trish. As we were sitting at the church last night having communion and chatting…it felt like someone was missing. While I missed having Donna be a part of it, the person that was missing was YOU.
