Ed’s wife

We had some missionaries (Keith and his wife) over for dinner last night.  It was a special meal because Derrick had seen the work of this mission and has high regard for it.  However, the trip was taken with Ed’s wife, Bambi.   Last night Keith and his wife shared a bit about what happened after the shepherd went home.

Bambi had portrayed herself as a great friend of the missionaries.  She spoke of wanting to go on the trip to bless Keith and his wife and to be refreshment to them.  However, the missionaries barely knew her.  They had in fact been leery of her coming.  She made them nervous.

Bambi insisted on staying longer on the trip.  She was already a week past the Shepherd having Keith’s wife take her to the beach.  After that, Bambi asked to stay another week.  Keith and his wife said no, it did not work with their schedule citing a specific conflict.  Tina then said she liked the activity and would do that with Keith and his wife.  Losing subtlety, the missionaries said a direct no.  Bambi then begins to explain her husband, Ed, is chairman of the board and he wants her stay.  It becomes clear it is a threat for  the missionaries’ financial support to remain as it is.  Keith and his wife held firm and Bambi returned home as scheduled.
