I attend a Ladies’ Group at church that meets weekly. Typically 10-12 ladies gather to discuss life, Scripture, and a lesson. It is a good group to be a part of. The age range is wide, the life experiences are varied, and the relationships are new. Half the group, including me, is new to the congregation for one reason or another.
It is fun to be in a developing group. The dynamics are not set, but predictable. The conversation is real, not forced. People are remembering week to week, “How was your vacation? How are your classes going? Did your doctor’s appointment go well?” In other words, we are connected enough to know and care what is going on with each other outside of class.
I feel the value of being a part. It gives me one place in the church where people know something more about me than my name, and I am the Shepherd’s Wife.
