When one considers the role of the pastor and the role of the elders, it is sad to know the best of the review process is — limited harm. Since the Shepherd started here, we have seen the removal of an elder due to character issues, we have been through a financial crisis, and we have seen the fallout from a poorly managed crisis.
Through the shepherd’s leadership, the church has actually seen growth despite those things. The shepherd goes through the review process. In my biased opinion, the elders should be falling all over themselves with gratitude of the shepherd’s leadership and patience. Instead, they have the wisdom to create “limited harm”.
