“Cost” of Excellence

The Shepherd has been out of town since Sunday after church.  He has gone to retreat, be outside, and contemplate the next series of sermons and teaching videos.  Today, the music minister joined him to brain storm ideas for the videos.  And tonight the Shepherd will finally come home.

It is the sort of “bonus” the church receives because the Shepherd is willing to do what it takes to serve God with excellence.  So the Shepherd gives the time.  The church will reap the benefit.

Now to be fair, the Shepherd benefits from this as well.  It is a great time for him to step into solitude, to clear several days from the clutter  of life and connect with God.
