Divorce… Gehenna… Without Purpose
Divorce is separating purpose. It is choosing to live life without the shared purpose of life together. Gehenna is the place for things without purpose.
My parents divorced when I was ten years old. As I think about purpose and Gehenna, I am aware of how my dad’s leaving affected my sense of worth… as a child. It suggested to me something about not being worth providing a whole home for. Was I resilient? Absolutely. But did the divorce have an affect? Absolutely.
