I have been watching footage from ten years ago when the planes struck the Twin Towers. I had forgotten how stunned the world was – and how confused we were about what had happened and what it meant. Even so, there was instant knowledge that the world had changed dramatically. One need only to get on an airplane to know the changes were significant. But the changes go much deeper. Our country has been at war for a decade. What was it to live in peace?
