21 years of marriage. Is that long? Is it a milestone? Is it even commendable? Does it speak to character? Or is it more like the man who walked a mile in a day? One step at a time – just keep on.
I don’t think it is the length of time that makes it noteworthy. I think commendable will be when there are enough markers of achievement — a legacy of value. That legacy comes with the accomplishment of time and commitment to a goal – a rich marriage is bringing out more from being married than you could achieve as two individuals. It is challenging each other to be kinder, more productive, more creative and perhaps more fun than you would be alone.
You do that for me!
