I was just looking at the high school pictures posted on Faceboook. The high school girl was in a full flush of love. She was smiling ear to ear as the young man embraced her with a bit too much contact.
The girl is now 20 years older and wiser. She is commenting on the picture. She is embarrassed. She comments of how in love she thought she was … and how wrong she was. She is also embarrassed about the “handsy” nature of the picture. You can hear so much in the posts.
What I hear most is “Please don’t judge me today on the foolishness of being 18. Please know I have grown up.” It makes me wonder about the paradox of life. Why is youth wasted on the young? Why do we make lifelong decisions when we are too young to know?
It is a good reminder that what we do matters! good post.
