Of course, my story begins before those days.  My story begins as a young girl in a divorced home longing for the acceptance and love of my dad.  In the church, I found who God had created me to be.  I found people who believed me to have worth.  And then I found God.  For me, the Church was the safest place I had been.  It was where I came for acceptance and understanding.  It was where I wanted to spend the rest of my life.

I am no longer so naive as to believe all churches are safe.  In fact, I am now certain my home church was only safe for me because I wasn’t married to a Shepherd.  Despite this understanding, I love the local church.  I love the idea of a congregation coming together, seeking to worship the One who created us and loves us.  I love the idea of encouraging one another in this journey of life and helping each other to find relationship with God.  I love the idea of the Church being a light to the world.  And I love the idea of the Church being a safe place in that journey.

I am not sure if I have goals with this blog.  I think mostly I hope to understand more about the wanderings as I live life married to my Shepherd.
